¡LoweCo. Turns Uno! RECAP
¡LoweCo. Turns Uno! was a blast and a half. We had so much fun that we forgot to take pictures on our phones so good thing we had Silver Bear Creative and Swan Photography to document all the FREAKING FUN WE ALL HAD. Get ready for major FOMO, y'all.
The night started with Wine & Watercolor Hour with Catherine Lowe where our guests received one of our three prints (LOVELY, HAPPY, VEST) to watercolor and take home while enjoying a bag of LiveLovePop, unlimited glasses of Gallo Wines and bottles of Honest Tea. We wanted to promote girly gabbing with new neighbors so we went for a long table to fit all our excited new friends.
Once the VIP hour was over and the table was cleared, the dancing began. DJ Christy Ray blasted hip-hop (Catherine's favorites) and the perfect dance music all evening. To fuel the night, Taco Heads supplied hungry guests with a range of fresh tacos. Their station was a frequent stop in the night for vegans and meat-eaters alike. And to wash down those tacos...our signature drinks! Mint Dentistry Mojito, Blaine Bowen Baloma and Fave4Hair Firework (this had pop rocks in it!) were a hit and made the perfect accessory to everyone's killer dance moves.
Every half hour during the fiesta, Catherine Lowe got on stage to announce the winners of the coveted gift baskets that were raffle items for the night. We had seven lucky winners of baskets that included Fave4Hair products, West Coast Vibes garb, A Night at Reunion Tower, Finell products and many more amazing items.
Guests could also shop some of LoweCo.'s cards for Valentine's Day and beyond, at a neighboring table. While some partygoers shopped and some entered the raffle, others were taking their photos in the mirmir photobooth. All the photos taken that night can be seen here but guests were given a hardcopy after each shot.
MK Event Boutique was responsible for the planning and execution of Catherine's vision for the night and brought some wonderful vendors to the forefront. RLove Floral had mini cactus centerpieces on each of the bar tables and also elegantized (someone should really make that a word) the place up with arrangements up high and down low.
One of the highlights of the night was our ¡UNO! pinatas made by Sarah Robison. Each was filled with 17 lbs of candy and ridiculous swag like Fave4Hair products, Blaine Bowen jewelry, Mint Dentistry dental care products (gotta take care of them teef!), mini UNO games, and fun noisemakers. Not only did they make for awesome decor, they were pretty entertaining. Catherine Lowe made the inaugural whack and it took about 10 swings, 4 stabs and 3 yanks to get the goods out.
When the pinatas (finally) started to rain swaggies, our staff handed out sombreros, headbands, beads, oversized glasses, maracas and other fun festive items to really crank the party up. We called this Crazy Hour which was inspired by a Peruvian wedding Catherine attended years ago.
After some more dancing, raffling, drinking, and eating, our "birthday cake" in the form of a Churro Macaron Tower by Joy Macarons was passed around for everyone to enjoy.
Once all the announcements had been made, Catherine Lowe's mother-in-law had left the building and the raffles were all given out, Christy Ray and Catherine had a moment. Karaoke Cat, we shall call her, sang "My Boo" for the crowd with a sombrero on her head and no shoes on her feet. The sign of a very good time.
A big THANK YOU to our sponsors, vendors, guests and supporters.
We couldn't have done it without you.
